After an intense Drupal 7 period, the UX Team is starting work on the exciting new UX challenges in Drupal 8.
We started work on several topics like defining the UX gate, usability testing Drupal 8, reviewing contributed modules and working within several core initiatives. Much of this work happens through relatively ad hoc discussions in IRC.
A primary goal is to keep growing the team and increase our research and interaction design capacity. To give more people the opportunity to get up to speed on what’s happening and bring their own topics we’ll be having bi-weekly meetings.
These meetings can have specific topics, but are open for all discussions. You are encouraged to bring your contributed module for a usability review for example!
Our meetings will be held bi-weekly in #drupal-usability in IRC on Mondays at UTC 8PM (4PM EST).
- 11 July
- 25 July
- 8 August
- 22 August
- etc..
Agenda
For our upcoming first meeting we would like to discuss a number of topics we have been working on in the past few months. Let us know if you have any agenda topics to add.
- Defining the Drupal 8 UX gate
- Usability testing Drupal 8
- Review of contributed modules
That’s all, we hope to see you at our first meeting!
Discussion
This is great news, Bojhan! I think even though D8 hasn't seen a lot of UX progress yet, there's some processes being put in place in the community that will really pay off once some of the bugs that are holding things back right now are taken care of.
I don't think I'll be able to make it for a few weeks yet, but I'll definitely try to "drop in" on one of these sessions in the coming months.

Thanks for this! I'm considered myself novice Drupal end user and site builder, but will do what I could, I've add a comment which I want to share since it take me days to find.
