Instant Messaging Grows
Rather funny to see that use of Instant Messaging grows rapidly and that now 90% of the Dutch young people use MSN. While 40% of the American population, approximately 53 million Americans use IM. I'm happy to hear this because many of my business related conversations go trough IM and I found it far more effective then e-mail. We are more connected, is that a good thing?

I dont think you must see this as rather funny. There is a huge problem coming towards us becaus of this. People are getting less social these days. Just becaus you can't really express your self in a electronic way. Not even with smiles.A example if you make a smile that shows that you are angry can the person on the other side know HOW angry you really are ? Well I don't think so. This is also one of the reasons that IM business chats should only be done by non profit organisations in combination off atleast ones in while a live meeting. I do use IM's becaus I got friend living outside the border and calling them is far to expensive. I could tell you atleast 100 reason of problems that IM's are costing today. So keep in your mind IM's are fine but you gotta limited in certain way.

I dont think you should say people are getting less social these days. Because it is more likely how you approach them, and conversations on their points of view.
If it comes to showing truth emotions, I totally agree with you. Personal and business conversations related to money should for now still go trough real live.
Trough a non-profit eye I still think this is a good development. Especially with IM its for me handier to talk to professionals in several areas without being on the move all day.

Why not less social ? When most off the youngster spend hours and hours behind Internet. It distracts them from doing what they supose to do aswell it gives them the idea that they don't need to go visited friends. Just becaus they already got him / her in their messenger list.
Like I said for Non profit it is a good way of communitcating. This becaus you can look outside the border for resources.
